|Calculus with Mathematica
The MmaCalc package provides the functions listed below, which illustrate many of the important concepts of calculus though animations and graphics and otherwise facilitate the use of Mathematica in teaching/learning calculus, especially multivariable calculus.
Please note: The MmaCalc package is not compatible with the recently released Mathematica 6. We hope to release a new version by the end of 2008.

|All of the MmaCalc functions are fully documented. Help Browser pages describe all options and provide numerous examples. Also included is a handy tool palette with buttons that perform common tasks.
|Compatibility and System Requirements
|The MmaCalc package has been tested with Mathematica 4.1 through 5.0.1. We cannot guarantee functionality in prior versions of Mathematica. We highly recommend Mathematica 5.0 (or above) to take full advantage of package features. As some of the animations are computationally intensive, we highly recommend processor speed of at least 2 GHz.

|A fully functional 15-day trial is available. Each time you load the package during the trial period, you will be prompted for a user name and license number. Entering “demo” allows you to use the package in trial mode.
|1. After downloading and unzipping the file Calc.zip, you will have a folder named Calc.
|2. Place the Calc folder in Mathematica’s AddOns/Applications directory.
|3. Start Mathematica and select Rebuild Help Index from the Help menu.
|4. Look in the File::Palettes menu, and open the palette named MmaCalcTools.
|You will then ﬁnd the MmaCalc documentation in your Help Browser. (Notice also the “Open Help Links” button on the tool palette.) Please notice the “Read Me” page and the “Start Here” pages that are at the top of each section.

|For $25 (U.S.) you will receive via email a user name and license number that will allow you to use the packageand all future upgradeson one computer. (For teachers/professors, an additional license for a “home” computer is free.) You may pay through PayPal or by sending a check (U.S. banks only) here. Discounts are available for multiple licenses.

|Glue The purpose of this palette is to make it easier to get good page breaks in Mathematica documents. There are buttons that “squeeze, stretch, scrunch, and spread” the bottom/top cell margins of selected cells, as well as buttons that shrink and expand graphics. If you’re going to print a large document, this can save you hours of tedious work.
|DiffEqs 2.0 A suite of four packages for studying differential equations. Contains DEGraphics, which lets you easily create beautiful phase portraits and several other kinds of graphics.
|PolarDensityPlot creates density plots of functions given in polar coordinates.
|ReactionDiffusionLab This package lets you easily create animations of solutions of two- and three-component reaction-diffusion systems, which are of interest for their ability to form natural-looking patterns.
